Made of Ebony and the finest grade North American Ash, the Chiltern ¾ jointed cue is made in England by Peradon. It has a length of 58 inches.Ash used for the cue is selected carefully for its straightness and strength. Timber that is not strong and straight enough does not make the cut. After the finest ash is selected, the Ebony butt timber is then spliced by hand to the cue. It is then shaped to the four round point design. The cue comes with an ornamental Zembrano butt timber and the Ebony butt also has sycamore veneer spliced to it. The cue is shaped over a certain period of time until it becomes tapered. This helps reduce the stress to the timbers. The cue is sanded and finished to make it smoother and better for consistent play.
Joint problems are prevented by having each of the two sections of the joint turned with precision using one piece of solid brass. The sections are also fitted with precision 16 inches from the butt end giving the shaft a total length of 42 inches. The butt comes with a name disc with the words Peradon Chiltern and the butt end joint can easily accept optional extensions. The extensions can also be fitted to the ¾ joint.
