Measuring a full 58 inches, the Winchester ¾ jointed cue is made by Peradon in England from Ebony and North American Ash.Ash is selected meticulously to ensure that it is strong and straight before the Ebony butt is spliced to it by hand. The cue is then shaped to result to the four round point design, which is typical of cues spliced by hand. There is one large front splice of Maple and Sapele is also spliced to the Ebony butt by hand. Shaping the cue over some time until the tapered shape is achieved reduces stress to the timbers. The cue then undergoes sanding and finishing to make it smoother.
Joint problems are avoided by having the two sections of the joints each turned from one piece of solid brass. They are then fitted with precision 16 inches from the butt end for a total shaft length of 42 inches. The butt comes with a name disc with the words Peradon Winchester. For those who would like extensions, you will be very happy to know that they can be purchased separately and easily fitted into the butt end joint or the ¾ joint.
