Crafted in England by Peradon, the Comet ¾ jointed 8 ball pool cue is made with Ebony and North American Ash and has a total length of 57 inches.Ash for the cue is selected with care and only the straightest and the strongest make it to production. After the selection process, the cue is spliced by hand with Ebony butt timber. The cue is then shaped to get the characteristic four round point pattern which is typical of cues spliced by hand.Reduction of stress to the timbers is achieved by shaping it over a period of time until the desired shape if achieved. After which, the cue is sanded and finished to make it perfectly smooth.Joint problems are eliminated by turning each of the two sections of the joint using one piece of brass.
The cue is then fitted 16 inches from the butt for a total shaft length of 41 inches. The shaft is fitted with the female section whilst the butt has the male section of the joint. This clever setup allows players to disconnect the 16-inch butt and replace it with the 6-inch mini butt which is supplied with the set. This results to a 47-inch cue that is perfect for awkward shots in tight places. The cue’s butt also has a joint that can be connected with the 6-inch butt for a longer shaft length of 63 inches. This type of cue is perfect for shots that need a rest. The cue comes with a name disc with the words Peradon Comet and features an Elkmaster tip and solid brass ferrule.
