Measuring 55 inches, the Luna ¾ jointed 8-ball pool cue is made by Peradon in England using Ebony and North American Ash. The ash is selected for strength and straightness before it is turned and spliced to quality Ebony butt timber by machine. The cue also has a front splice of Ebony, as well as a Rosewood inlay between two Light Blue and Black veneers spliced to the butt section to make it look more appealing. The cue is turned to get the desired tapered shape before it is sanded and finished to make it very smooth on the hand. Joint problems are also avoided by having each of the two sections turned using a single piece of brass and having them fitted with precision about 16 inches from the butt end for a total shaft length of 39 inches.
The shaft comes with the female section of the joint and the butt comes with the male section. This clever setup allows players to remove the 16-inch butt section and screw on the 6-inch mini butt which is supplied together with the cue. The butt also comes with a butt end joint that can accept the 6-inch mini butt that comes with the cue. This gives the cue a total length of 61 inches which is perfect for shots that require a rest. The butt comes with a name disc with the words Peradon Luna and features an Elkmaster tip and a solid brass ferrule.
