Made by Peradon in England, the Python ¾ jointed 8 ball pool cue is made from Rosewood and North American Ash. Ash used for the cue is selected with care and timbers which are not strong or straight do not make it to production. Ash, which passed the quality checks is turned and spliced by machine to the Rosewood butt timber. The cue also has a Rosewood front splice, as well as Red sandwiched between two blue veneers spliced to its butt section to enhance its appearance. The cue is then turned to achieve the desired tapered finish before it goes through sanding and finishing to its perfectly smooth finish.
Joint problems are avoided by having the two sections of the quick action joint turned with precision using one piece of solid brass and fitted with accuracy 16 inches from the butt end, giving the shaft a total length of 39 inches. The shaft is fitted with the female section of the joint, whilst the butt has the male section. This setup allows players to remove 16 inches of the butt section and connect the 6 inches mini butt. This gives the cue 45 inches, ideal for playing shots in tight spaces. The butt has a quick action joint which allows it to accept the 6 inches mini butt which comes with the cue. This can lengthen the cue to 61 inches, ideal for some shots which may require a rest. The finishing touch of the cue is the name disc with the words Peradon Python.
