Made by Peradon in England, the Hawk ¾ jointed 8 ball pool cue has a length of 55 inches and is made from Ebony and North American Ash.The ash used for the cue is selected carefully. Only the straightest and the strongest are selected to have the finest Ebony spliced to it by hand. Then the cue is then shaped to result in the distinctive four round pattern which is normal for cues spliced by hand.Shaping the cue over time reduces stress. After getting the desired shape, the cue then undergoes various processes of sanding and finishing to make it silky smooth and better consistent for play.
The two sections of the cue are turned with precision using one piece of solid brass so that joint problems are avoided. The cue is also fitted with precision 16 inches from the butt for a total shaft length of 39 inches. The shaft has the female section and the butt has the male section of the joint. This design easily allows players to remove the 16 inches butt section and connect the 6 inches mini butt that comes with the set. This gives the cue a length of 45 inches, perfect for shots in tight spaces. The butt of the cue can also accept the 6-inch mini butt for a cue with a length of 61 inches, perfect for shots that need rest. The butt has a name disc with the words Peradon Hawk.
